Saturday 28th September 2pm-5pm   Learn to make Jesmonite tiles that incorporate reclaimed materials.   Jesmonite is a versatile material and is used in several ways. It can be used as a surface material in building and construction but used commonly now to create beautiful vessels and coasters combined with natural and/or special materials that add colour and textture. It is considered an attractive alternative to other resin-based materials, such as polyester and fiberglass.
Discover the basics of the casting and moulding processes, integrate reclaimed and natural elements, and finally sand the tiles back to expose the textures within. Attendees come away with four tiles or coasters with unique surface designs. Refreshments are included.   Stephanie Tudor is a visual artist - through her work, she aims to reconnect people with the natural world, generating conversations, connections and emotional responses.  Graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2013, Stephanie has worked on commissions from high-end furniture for The New Craftsmen to sculptural seating in public parks in London (MUF Architects). She currently works from her studio in Bristol creating works for exhibitions and private clients. Alongside this, she is a co-founder of Studio Meraki (est. 2016), a collective of artists committed to improving public spaces through use of community-led design and arts facilitation.
